2026年8月11日、久喜市菖蒲文化会館「アミーゴ」で開催された「2026年度 キッズ・セミナー」で、子ども向けのものづくり講座「カラフルサマーリースを作ろう！」の講師を務めました。
今回作ったのは、たくさんの貝がらや夏らしい素材を使ったカラフルなサマーリース。
小学生10名の子どもたちが、保護者の方と一緒に参加してくれました。
久喜市菖蒲文化会館「アミーゴ」さんには、以前もお正月のしめ縄飾りの講座を何回かご依頼いただきました。
今回は季節を夏に変えて、親子でカラフルなサマーリースづくりです。
ケーブルテレビ久喜「く・わ・し・く 彩たま」さんの取材も入って、賑やかに。
On August 11, 2026, I had the pleasure of leading a children’s craft workshop, “Let’s Make a Colorful Summer Wreath,” as part of the 2026 Kids Seminar at Kuki City Shobu Cultural Center “Amigo.”
For this workshop, we created colorful summer wreaths using seashells and a variety of summery materials. Ten elementary school children joined us with their parents and enjoyed creating their own unique wreaths together.
I have been invited to hold workshops at Amigo several times before, including New Year’s shimenawa decoration workshops.
This time, we switched seasons and enjoyed making bright and colorful summer wreaths together as families. The workshop was also covered by Cable TV Kuki’s local program “Ku・Wa・Shi・Ku Saitama,” adding even more excitement to the day.
同じ材料でも、できあがるものはみんな違う
貝がらや色とりどりのパーツを前に、まずは「どれを使おう？」から。
リース作りの図形や配置のちょっとしたコツもお伝えしながら、それぞれ好きな素材を選び、思い思いに飾りつけていきます。
どの色を選ぶのか。
どこに置くのか。
何と何を組み合わせるのか。
「なんでこの色？」
「なんでここ？」
そんなふうに聞かれたとき、「だって、これが好きだから」でいいんです。
ものづくりに、ひとつだけの正解はありません。
自分が「これがいい」と思った感覚を信じて、選んで、作ってみる。
子どもたちとの講座では、そんな時間も大切にしています。
Surrounded by seashells and colorful decorations, the children began by asking themselves, “Which ones should I use?”
While learning a few simple tips about shapes and placement, each child chose the materials they liked and decorated their wreath in their own way.
Which colors should I choose?
Where should I place them?
What should I combine?
“Why did you choose this color?”
“Why did you put it here?”
When asked questions like these, it’s perfectly fine to answer, “Because I like it.”
There is no single right answer when it comes to creating something.
Trust your own sense of what feels right, make your own choices, and create something that feels like you.
That is one of the things I value most in my workshops with children.
楽しかった記憶が、いつか小さなきっかけになったら
お子様たちに向けた講座を開催する時、私自身のことを覚えてもらおうとは考えていません。
それよりも、
「これ、面白そう」
「集めてみたい」
「自分でも作れるかな」
「ちょっとやってみようかな」
そんな気持ちが、記憶の片隅に残ってくれたら。
いつか何かに出会ったとき、自分で調べたり、集めたり、作ってみたり。
この日の「楽しかった！」が、そんな小さなきっかけのひとつになってくれたら嬉しいなと思っています。
When I hold workshops for children, my goal isn’t for them to remember me.
What I hope they’ll remember instead is the feeling of:
“This looks interesting.”
“I want to collect these.”
“I wonder if I could make this myself.”
“Maybe I’ll give it a try.”
If those little sparks stay somewhere in the back of their minds, I’ll be happy.
Then someday, when something catches their interest, perhaps they’ll look it up, start collecting things, or try making something on their own.
I hope the “That was fun!” they felt that day becomes one of those little sparks that inspires them to try something new.
そして、もうひとつ。
世の中には、自分の「好き」を大切にして、それを仕事にしたり、楽しんだりしている大人もいる。
そんな大人のひとりとして出会うことも、子どもたちにとって何かのフックになったらいいなと思っています。
「ここが好き」
「私はこれがいい」
自分が感じた「好き」を、自分でちゃんと信じること。
これからいろいろなものに出会っていく中でも、そんな自分の感覚を大切にしてもらえたらと思います。
And there’s one more thing.
There are adults in the world who value what they love, whether by turning it into their work or simply enjoying it as part of their lives.
I hope that meeting someone like that might become a small spark for the children, too.
“I like this part.”
“This is what I like.”
Learning to trust that feeling of “I like this” within yourself.
As they grow and discover many new things, I hope they will continue to value and trust their own sense of what they love.
同じ材料から生まれた、色も配置もそれぞれのリース。
どれも、その子が選んで作ったひとつだけの作品になりました。
今回のサマーリースづくりが、「自分で選ぶって楽しい」「作ってみるって面白い」と感じられる、夏休みのひとときになっていたら嬉しいです。
