2026年8月2日（日）～8日（土）、東京交通会館にて、wraPPPer作品展2026「WOW!!!」＋日本おくりものクリエイト協会作品展2026を開催しました。
今年のテーマは、
「WOW!!! 輪を、和を！」
人とのつながりの「輪」。
日本ならではの「和」のこころ。
ラッピング・水引・クイリングを通して生まれる、新しい出会いやご縁を楽しんでもらえたら。
そんな思いを込めた作品展です。

From August 2 (Sun.) to August 8 (Sat.), 2026, we held the wraPPPer Exhibition 2026 “WOW!!!” + Japan Gift Create Association Exhibition 2026 at Tokyo Kotsu Kaikan.
This year’s theme was:
“WOW!!! — Wa o, Wa o!”
A “circle” that connects people.
The spirit of Japanese “wa” — harmony.
Through wrapping, mizuhiki, and quilling, we hoped to create opportunities for new encounters and connections.
This exhibition was created with that wish in mind.
会場には、普段wraPPPerの教室で学んでいる生徒さんたちの作品をはじめ、たくさんの作品が並びました。
同じラッピング、水引、クイリングを学んでいても、出来上がるものは驚くほど違います。
色も、形も、テーマも、表現の仕方もさまざま。
会期中には、作品展示だけでなく体験教室やワークショップも開催し、たくさんの方が足を運んでくださいました。
一週間を終えてまず思ったことは
「作品展、やって良かった！」
今年も、生徒さんたちの中にあるものをたくさん見ることができました。
The venue was filled with a wide variety of works, including pieces created by students who regularly attend wraPPPer classes.
Even though they are all learning the same techniques—wrapping, mizuhiki, and quilling—the finished pieces are amazingly different.
The colors, shapes, themes, and ways of expression are all unique.
During the exhibition, we also held hands-on classes and workshops, welcoming many visitors throughout the week.
At the end of the week, the first thing that came to mind was:
“I’m so glad we held this exhibition!”
Once again this year, it was wonderful to see so much of each student’s creativity and individuality come to life.
初めての作品展へ、一歩踏み出して
今回、初めて作品展に参加した方もいます。
最初は少し自信がなくても、今できることから作品づくりに挑戦しました。
今できる結びを使って、花桃を表現した作品。
ピンクや白の水引を重ねながら、華やかな花の景色を一枚の作品に仕上げています。
一つひとつ結びながら、たくさんの果物が並ぶ大作を完成させた方も。
完成した作品を見ると、「できる・できない」だけではない、その人ならではの表現がちゃんとあります。
そして一度つくり切ると、また次の「つくってみたい」が生まれてくる。
作品展は、一年間の発表の場であると同時に、次の作品づくりが始まる場所でもあるのかもしれません。
Some participants joined the exhibition for the first time this year.
Even if they felt a little unsure at first, they took on the challenge of creating something with the skills they already had.
One piece depicts peach blossoms, created using familiar mizuhiki knots. Layers of pink and white mizuhiki come together to create a beautiful scene filled with blossoms.
Another participant completed an impressive piece filled with colorful fruits, carefully tying each one by hand.
Looking at the finished works, you can see that creating is about more than simply what you can or cannot do. Each piece carries something unique to the person who made it.And once one piece is complete, a new “I’d like to try making this next” begins to grow.
The exhibition is a place to share the work created over the past year, but perhaps it is also a place where the next creative journey begins.
「次はこれをつくりたい！」が生まれてくる
何度か参加している生徒さんは、前回の作品展が終わると、
「次はこれをつくりたい！」
と、もう次の作品のイメージが出てくることがあります。
でも「つくりたいもの」が決まったからといって、すぐにつくり方がわかるわけではありません。
たとえば、シャインマスカットができていく様子を表現したい。
どうやって表す？
何を使う？
どんな技法なら形にできる？
そんなことを一緒に考え、試しながら、一つひとつ形にしていきます。
教室で習ったものと同じものをつくるだけではなく、身につけた技術を使って、自分の「つくりたい」を形にしていく。
そのために一緒に考え、伴走してきたものが、一つの作品になって会場に並ぶ。
講師として、とても嬉しい瞬間です。
Some students were taking part in the exhibition for the first time, while others were joining for the second or third time.
For those who have participated before, as soon as one exhibition ends, they sometimes already have an idea in mind:
“I want to make this next!”
But knowing what you want to create doesn’t necessarily mean knowing how to make it.
For example, someone might want to capture the way Shine Muscat grapes grow and ripen.
How can we express that?
What materials should we use?
What techniques could bring the idea to life?
We think through these questions together, experimenting along the way and gradually turning the idea into a finished piece.
Rather than simply recreating what they have learned in class, students use the skills they have developed to bring their own creative ideas to life.
Seeing something we have thought through and worked on together finally take shape as a finished piece—and then seeing it displayed at the exhibition—is a truly rewarding moment for me as an instructor.
作品を見ると、その人が見えてくる
今回も、本当にいろいろな作品が生まれました。
一つひとつ結び、色のバランスを考えながら、最後までつくり切ったヒスイカズラ。
海や水、生き物が好きな2人のお子さんを思い浮かべてつくられた作品。
Once again, a wonderful variety of works came to life at this year’s exhibition.
A jade vine piece, carefully created knot by knot, with close attention to the balance of colors.
Another piece was inspired by the artist’s two children and their love of the ocean, water, and living creatures.
六角形にこだわりながら、いつもは選ばない色を使って、新しい表現に挑戦した作品。
A piece that explored new forms of expression by focusing on hexagonal shapes and using colors the artist would not normally choose.
「蝶々」をテーマに、ラッピング、水引、クイリングの3作品を出展した方も。
One participant exhibited three pieces inspired by the theme of “butterflies”—one each in wrapping, mizuhiki, and quilling.
作品がずらりと並んでみると、「こんな一面もあったんだ！」という発見もたくさん。
普段のレッスンではまだ見えていなかった「好き」や「こだわり」、その人らしさが、作品になると自然と表れてきます。
同じ技法を学んでいても、出来上がるものはまったく違う。
それを見るのが、作品展の楽しさでもあります。
みんな、よくできました！＾＾
Once all the works were displayed together, there were so many moments of discovery—“I never knew they had this side to them!”
The things each person loves, the details they care about, and their unique personality—things that may not always be visible during regular lessons—naturally come through in their work.
Even when everyone is learning the same techniques, no two finished pieces are alike.
That is one of the joys of holding an exhibition.

作品に込めたメッセージ
私自身も作品を制作しました。
講師として作品をつくるとき、生徒さんに「これはどうやってつくられているんだろう？」と考えてもらえるような仕掛けを取り入れることがあります。
今回も、これまでにない結び方に挑戦した作品を展示しました。
一見するとひとつの作品ですが、水引やラッピングを学んでいる人だからこそ、その技法の面白さや難しさに気づくところがあります。
新しい技法や表現を作品として見せることで、そこからまた「こんなこともできるんだ」「自分だったらどう表現しよう」と、次の作品づくりにつながっていったら。
そんな思いも込めています。
I also created and exhibited some of my own work.
As an instructor, when I create a piece, I sometimes include elements that encourage my students to wonder, “How was this made?”
For this exhibition, I challenged myself to explore new ways of tying mizuhiki that I had never used before.
At first glance, it may look like a single finished piece, but those who study mizuhiki or wrapping may notice the techniques behind it—and appreciate both the creativity and the challenge involved.
By presenting new techniques and forms of expression through my own work, I hope my students will think, “I didn’t know you could do something like this!” or “How would I express this in my own way?”
I hope these discoveries will inspire them and lead to ideas for their next creations.
That is another thought I put into my work.
展示するだけではない作品展に
今回は作品を見てもらうだけでなく、会期中にラッピング・水引・クイリングの体験教室やワークショップも開催しました。
せっかく作品展に集まるなら、展示を見るだけではなく、会場で過ごす時間そのものも楽しんでもらいたいと考えた企画です。
実際に始まってみると、想像以上の盛り上がりに。
作品を見る。
実際に手を動かしてみる。
誰かの作品について話す。
展示だけではない時間が生まれたことで、人が集まり、交流しながら楽しめる作品展になりました。
今年は、作品展のオリジナルグッズとしてポーチも販売。
昨年のステッカーに続き、こちらもたくさんの生徒さんが手に取ってくれました。
Since everyone had come together for the exhibition, we wanted them to enjoy not only viewing the works, but also the time they spent at the venue itself.
Once the exhibition began, the response was even more enthusiastic than we had imagined.

By creating experiences beyond simply viewing the exhibition, the venue became a place where people could come together, connect, and enjoy their time.
This year, we also created an original pouch as exhibition merchandise.
Following last year’s stickers, the pouches were also very popular with our students.
作品と、人が集まる場所
作品展には、たくさんの方が遊びに来てくださいました。
作品の前で話したり、久しぶりに会ったり、一緒に写真を撮ったり。
こうして写真を振り返ってみても、作品だけではなく、作品を真ん中にして人が集まる時間も、この作品展の大切な一部だったのだと思います。

Many people came to visit the exhibition.
They chatted in front of the works, reunited with people they hadn’t seen in a while, and took photos together.
Looking back at these photos, I feel that the exhibition was about more than just the works themselves. The time people spent gathering and connecting through the works was also an important part of the exhibition.

みんなの想いが一つの「輪」に
今回の作品展では、生徒さんによる実行委員もつくりました。
準備から開催までたくさんの力を貸してくれた実行委員のみなさんのおかげで、素敵な展示会になりました。ありがとうございました！
最終日には、会場で打ち上げ。
思いがけないプレゼントをいただきました。
一人ひとりがつくった水引の結びを集めて、一つのリースにしてくれたのです。
違う人がつくった、違う結び。
それぞれの形を残したまま、一つの「輪」になりました。
「WOW!!! 輪を、和を！」
今年の作品展のテーマそのもののような、嬉しい贈り物でした。
作品展、やって良かった。
改めて、そう思います。
For this year’s exhibition, we also formed an organizing committee made up of our students.
Thanks to all the committee members who gave us so much support, from the preparations through to the exhibition itself, it became a truly wonderful event. Thank you so much!
On the final day, we gathered at the venue to celebrate together.
And there, I received an unexpected gift.
They collected mizuhiki knots made by each participant and brought them together to create a single wreath.
Different knots, made by different people.
Each one kept its own unique shape, yet together they formed one beautiful “circle.”
“WOW!!! — Wa o, Wa o!”
It was such a wonderful gift—one that perfectly embodied the theme of this year’s exhibition.
I’m so glad we held this exhibition.
Looking back, I feel that all over again.
「つくりたい」を形にする、wraPPPerの教室
ラッピング、水引、クイリング。
wraPPPerの教室では、それぞれの技法を学ぶことはもちろん、その先にある、
「私は、これをつくってみたい」
という気持ちも大切にしています。
最初は「私なんて」と思っていても、今できることから始めればいい。
できることが増えてくると、今度は「次はこれをつくりたい」が出てくる。
そうしたら、どうやったら形にできるのか、一緒に考える。
今回の作品展では、そんな一人ひとりの「つくりたい」が、たくさん会場に並びました。
ご参加くださった生徒のみなさん、ご来場くださったみなさん、そして作品展を一緒につくってくださったみなさん。
本当にありがとうございました。
また次にどんな「つくりたい」が生まれてくるのか。
今から楽しみにしています。
Wrapping, mizuhiki, and quilling.
At wraPPPer, our classes are not only about learning techniques. We also value what comes next—the feeling of:
“I want to try making this.”
Even if you start out thinking, “I’m not sure I can do it,” you can begin with what you already know.
As you learn more and gain new skills, another thought begins to emerge:
“I want to make this next.”
And when that happens, we think together about how to bring that idea to life.
At this year’s exhibition, the venue was filled with works born from each student’s own “I want to make this.”
